DIY-Musik und das Experimentieren mit selbstgebauten Instrumenten ist ein Phänomen,das an verschiedenen Orten auf unterschiedlichste Weise stattfindet. Verschiedene Künstler:innen, Kollektive und Gruppen werden
über das Jahr besucht und entwickeln gemeinsame Projektideen - als Teil der Ausstellung, Performances, Workshop oder als interaktive Installationen auf dem Holzmarkt. Zusätzliche Interview- und Gesprächsformate bieten einen vertiefenden Rahmen für die Diskussion verschiedener Schwerpunktthemen wie Materialverwendung, Nachhaltigkeit und die Vernetzung lokaler Musikszenen. Ein weiteres Ziel ist es, neue internationale Netzwerke innerhalb der DIY-Szene zu schaffen, die einen kulturellen Austausch über das gemeinsame Interesse an selbstgebauter Musik ermöglichen und fördern.
DIY music and experimenting with self-made instruments is a phenomenon that happens in various places in a wide variety of ways.
These artists, collectives and groups will be visited throughout the year
and develop joint project ideas, as part of the exhibition, performances, workshop or as interactive installations at Holzmarkt. Additional Interview and talk formats will provide an in-depth framework for discussing various key topics such as the use of materials, sustainability and the networking of local music scenes. A further aim is to create new international networks within the DIY scene that enable and promote a cultural exchange on the common interest of self-made music.

SONIC RESONANZ WORKSHOP I & II

Gemeinsam mit Robert Martinez vom Mutan Lab wird die Gruppe Selbstgebaute Musik gemeinsam mit Teilnehmenden vom 20.-25. März den Stadtsound Barcelonas unter die Lupe nehmen. In drei Workshopformaten wird ein kollektives DIY-DIT-Forschungsprojekt umgesetzt. Im ersten Workshop wird zusammen mit Teilnehmenden ein Verstärkergerät gebaut.
Dieser kann als Anreger, Mycofonia Electret, Piezo oder einfach als elektrischer Signalverstärker funktionieren, der endlose Feedbacks generiert. Dieses analoge Gerät mit integriertem Lautsprecher und der Option Kopfhörer anzuschließen kann vor allem sehr gut unterwegs genutzt werden.
Damit können alle möglichen elektrischen Signale, Stimmen Umgebungsgeräusche, Vibrationssounds,
Audios usw. verstärkt werden. So erforschen wir die Stadt als Musikinstrument und begeben uns auf eine akustische Reise durch Barcelona.
Im zweiten Teil des Workshops gehen wir in die Erstellung der Komposition von Klängen und anderen Materialien. Dazu werden die Straßen des Viertels von Horta als Labor für die Klangsammlung genutzt. Wir werden all die nicht hörbaren Geräusche in unserem Hörfrequenzbereich erforschen und letztendlich das aktive Zuhören von allem was uns umgibt, erleben.
Together with Robert Martinez from the Mutan Lab, the Selbstgebaute Musik group will be taking a close look at Barcelona's urban sound with participants from 20-25 March. A collective DIY DIT research project will be realised in three workshop formats.
In the workshop, an amplifier device will be built together with participants. This can function as an exciter, Mycofonia Elecret Piezo or simply as an electrical signal amplifier that generates endless feedback. This analogue device with an integrated loudspeaker and the option to connect headphones can be used on
the go. It can be used to amplify all kinds of electrical signals, voices, ambient noise, vibration sounds, audio, etc,
audio, etc. can be amplified. We will explore the city as a musical instrument and embark on an acoustic journey through Barcelona.
In the second part of the workshop, we will go into the creation
of compositions of sounds and other materials. The streets of the Horta neighbourhood will be used as a laboratory for sound collection. We will explore all the inaudible sounds in our hearing frequency range and finally experience the active listening of everything that surrounds us.
BÉLAMŪHELIY / BUDAPEST
Mit Bélaműhely in Budapest wird SGM spezifische Stadtklänge und typische ungarische Instrumente erkunden. Wir erfahren etwas über den Bau der selbstgebauten Instrumente von Bélaműhely und sie nehmen uns zum monatlichen Jam mit Kindern im Kulturzentrum am Marczibányi-Platz.
With Bélaműhely in Budapest SGM will explore specific city sounds and typical Hungarian instruments. We get to know about the construction of Bélaműhely self-made instruments and they will take them to the monthly jam with children at the Marczibányi Square Cultural Centre.
